About Us

Founded in 2003, Weston Community Theatre produces theatre in and around Weston, Missouri, choosing from some of the finest theatrical works available. Each season’s productions are a mix of small stage plays, main stage musicals, and community events. Many performances are free to attend and a participation fee is never charged to actors.  Everyone is welcome!

Weston Community Theatre provides performances opportunities in a variety of settings and styles. Each summer WCT offers a main stage musical production at West Platte’s Performing Arts Center, featuring all ages of cast and crew. Smaller scale productions of straight plays and staged readings are offered in the fall and spring. WCT performers have also hosted strolls through Weston’s historic Laurel Hill Cemetery, dressed in period costume to tell the stories of Weston’s colorful residents and the town’s history. In the fall, a Haunted Walking Tour provides insights into Weston’s ghostly past through stories and firsthand accounts told by property owners and tour guides.

Voted #1 Daytrip by Ingram’s Magazine ten years in a row, Weston is conveniently located just 15 minutes from the Kansas City airport.  This pre-civil war town’s historic district offers unique shops, museums, restaurants, wineries, Irish pub, and city park. Nearby orchards and natural spaces provide more family fun.  For more information visit Weston Chamber of Commerce.

Our mission is to entertain, inform, and educate adults and children through participation in theatre arts,

Thereby enriching the cultural life of the greater Weston area; to provide area residents the opportunity both to attend and to participate in quality presentations of a cross-section of the finest theatrical works available.

"From the start it has been the theatre's business to entertain people ... it needs no other passport than fun."

— Bertold Brecht
